Book: Schooled
Author: Gordon Korman

Homeschooled by his hippie grandmother, Capricorn (Cap) Anderson has never watched television, tasted a pizza, or even heard of a wedgie. But when his grandmother lands in the hospital, Cap is forced to move in with a school counselor and attend the local middle school. While Cap knows a lot about tie-dyeing and Zen Buddhism, no education could prepare him for the politics of public school.-Goodreads

Review: My 9-year old son and I read this over the summer and I absolutely loved it. My son is extremely picky and even he loved it. Cap has spent his entire life living off the grid with his grandmother. When she ends up in the hospital, he goes to live with the school counselor and finds himself in public school with other kids. Each chapter is written in alternating narratives between various characters.

Fantastic read-highly recommend for 3-5 grade.
